Sony Playstation 3 Console

Problem:

Help please! Console is less than a month old. Tonight when we turned it on it would not boot up game that was inserted. We reset defaults to manufacture's specs - still won't up load games or play Spider III movie that came with. Loading symbol continues to spin in upper right corner.

Solution
:
  1. we just have the same problem, system is only 2 months old and wont play my games and we're calling the local news and copying all statements we find...anyone else interested in a lawsuit email me lawyer says we could have a good case.
  2. Hey everyone, I have contacted a law firm that is acquiring info for a possible class action lawsuit. Especially for people who live in California, but everywhere else too: Please have all of your information DOCUMENTED! Write down when your PS3 stopped working and why, whether you have a receipt or not, when or if you contacted Sony, what was the outcome with Sony, if this defect has ever happened before, and what Sony is going to do to remedy this for you. Take all the info and email it to: info@millslawfirm.com and write in the subject line "Sony Playstation 3". Additionally, if any of you are on another site or are blogging, repost this to spread the word. Good luck all!
  3. This morning my PS3 stop reading Games, movies, CDs, everything, like the drive is dead, I got it Nov 30, 2007, so its 5 months old. I still have the receipt, so I called Sony they said they'll mail me a box to send off my PS3 and either they'll repair my old one or send me a new one. I see above people said they got a used one back, that's BS I paid nearly 600$ and I don't want some system someone else has handled, either fix my old one or send me a new one. I think I want to sue.
  4. *How to get a new receipt* If you're unable to find the receipt, talk to the person who purchased your PS3 and have he or she search their bank account that they purchased the system with. If they can find the purchase, their account should show the receipt number, place of purchase, and the amount. With this information, you can contact the retail store they purchased the system from and that store can reprint the receipt even if you purchased it several months ago. I hope this helps those of you w/o a receipt. I know Sony's warranty isn't too dandy, which is why I wish I got Best Buy's replacement plan, but understand they need that receipt as legal proof that the system was purchased within the warrant period. Though, it still sucks.
  5. its a problem with the latest download update. sorry to say but its a job for sony as long as its still under warranty. just phone them up explain the probs your having and they will send you a new (normally reconditioned) unit out. i'm getting my new one tomorrow. upset it broke but sony's replacement service is very good.
  6. I think that the solution for the problem is to upgrade the firmware. If still has a problem you need to see if your system is at 24ghz 1080p that´s the highest blu-ray output, and some games and other media can keep with it and playstation 3 cannot translate to a more accurate frequency. So all you have to do is to downgrade tha frequency to lower one.If this help please answer.Thank you!
  7. Be sure to backup your settings/games saves by doing a System > Backup on your PS3 or you may lose your game saves! Also, this is a last resort procedure prior to exchanging/returning to sony. 1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch. 2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps. 3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset). 4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup). Hopefully this will solve your freezing problems. Problems/symptons that this appears to have resolved: -freezing when doing anything -no harddrive activity -freezing when trying to use onboard keyboard or bringing up keyboard -game/movie disc freezes system

i had the same problem, was playin COD WW, decided to play socom, when i took COD out and put Socom in it wouldnt read discs ne more, i called sony they told me it would take minimum 3 weeks to get me a repaired or refurbed one. This is BS like every1 else we all payed alot of money for these systems and they should be taking care of much quicker than that. its not even a year old. so if it comes down to a lawsuit im in, but ultimatly i just a good working ps3 now. regardless of what it costs sony to make that happen.

Listen ive had my ps3 for about 2 years now. I payed almost $1000 for the machine. Ive never had a problem with it and its never been dropped, tampered with, etc. My warranty that I paid almost $100 is void. Now it wont read my games and SONY is telling my im going to have to pay about $170 for. Contact me if you have any information at illestlilalchy@aol.com
